Established by Professor and Mrs. Laitinen in 1996, this award recognizes overall excellence in research, teaching and service for a Ph.D. student in the analytical chemistry division. This year’s recipient is Mr. Da Han, a member of the Tan research group and a 2009 graduate of Xiamen University. Da’s dissertation research involves the molecular engineering of photoresponsive three-dimensional DNA nanostructures. He expects to complete his degree in the summer, 2013 semester.
