Michael Schulz wins the Three Minute Thesis (3MT) Competition

“Graduate student Michael Schulz recently took first place and the chance to continue on in the regional competition in the Three-Minute Thesis Competition (3MT) sponsored by the University of Florida Graduate School, in collaboration with I-Cubed and GSAC. Forty-one graduate students from the University of Florida participated in the competition to compress their graduate research into a three-minute presentation using only PowerPoint slides. No other electronic media or props were allowed. This was the first time the 3MT competition, which started in Queensland, Australia, has been held on UF campus.”

Michael Schulz receives 2014-15 Fulbright US Student Award

“Michael Schulz has been selected for a 2014-2015 Fulbright U.S. Student Award to Germany. The Fulbright Program is the flagship international educational exchange program of the United States. He will represent the country as a cultural ambassador while he is overseas, helping to enhance mutual understanding between Americans and the people in Germany. Michael will join over 100,000 Fulbright U.S. Student Program alumni who have undertaken grants since the program began in 1948.”

The total value of each award exceeds $100,000 over a three-year period. Widely regarded as one of the most prestigious honors a graduate student can receive. This year, just 2,000 award recipients were chosen from more than 13,000 applicants nationwide.”
