Molecular Engineering

Building new molecules to tackle new problems.

Short nucleic acids are great molecules for molecular engineering. Using clever designs we are able to create probes with interesting properities.

We have engineered nucleic acids into molecular beacons which detect mRNA levels in living cells, DNA motors, DNA hydrogels for cocaine detection, and light-switchable DNA probes to modulate enzyme activity.
