About Me:

I was born and raised in Rahway, New Jersey with twelve years of Catholic schooling. Since graduating from Penn State (B.S. Chemistry, ACS certified, '03), I have been moving south along the east coast. After college, I called Virginia home during an internship at Honeywell. Now I'm here at Florida, where I am attending graduate school for the next few years. Along the way, I have developed an appreciation for cooking, travel, art and racquetball.

Research Interest:

As an undergraduate working for Dr. A. Daniel Jones, I gained an appreciation for mass spectrometry. With him, I worked on the selective derivatization of Se-cys proteins using MALDI-TOF and ESI-Quad MS for confirmation.

Now, I am very pleased to continue the Yost Group's work with laser microprobe/imaging mass spectrometry under the guidance of Dr. Rick Yost. Currently, my project uses a ThermoFinnigan LTQ with intermediate pressure MALDI to profile and image lipids and other small molecules on single neurons of the sea slug Aplysia californica. For further information, see my chemistry webpage below.
