Review

Molecules form because electrons can delocalize better amoung several atoms than they can in a single atom. This spreading of electron density is called a covalent chemical bond. We discussed the properties of these bonds and features of their electronic structure

Some 'highlights' of the properties we discussed are:

The nature of Waves (text pp. 272-276), and even Particle Waves (text pp. 284-289)
The Hydrogen energy spectrum (text pp. 280-284) and Nodes (text pp. 286, 291-292, 398, 404)
Atomic Aufbau (text pp. 294-299), and electron Configurations of the elements (text pp. 295-303)
Chemical Periodicity (text pp. 315-339)
Lewis theory (text pp. 346-352, 357-365) and Bond Polarity (text pp. 352-355)
Bond Energies (text pp. 375-378)
Chemical Geometry (text pp. 365-375)
The weird and wonderful World of Quantum Chemistry (text pp. 389-411)
Molecular Stickiness (text pp. 436-445) and the Phases of matter (text pp. 422-435)
