Wagener Receives Humboldt Research Award for Senior U.S. Scientists
Butler Professor of Polymer Chemistry Dr. Ken Wagener has been honored with an Alexander von Humboldt Research Award for U.S. Senior Scientists. The award, which is provided by the Humboldt Foundation in Bonn, Germany, is granted as a lifelong tribute in recognition of past accomplishments in research and teaching, and is considered an exceptional achievement within the scientific community.
Humboldt research awards are provided on the basis of nominations by eminent German scholars. They are designed to promote scientific cooperation between foreign countries and Germany. Interactions will begin with the Müllen Research Group at the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research in Mainz, starting with investigations in nanoscale nonaqueous emulsion polymerization and a study of structure in precision polymers used in fuel cell membrane applications.
