.....................................

Assistant Professor. Nick C. Polfer received the 2008 ASMS Research Award at the 56th ASMS conference in Denver, CO, for his proposal entitled: “Advancing the structural characterization of biomolecules by combining ion mobility mass spectrometry and infrared spectroscopy”.

Nick was a post-doctoral associate at the FOM institute ‘Rijnhuizen” in the Netherlands using the free electron laser FELIX. He has been an Assistant Professor in Chemistry since August 2007.

His research focuses on developing mass spectrometric techniques that increase the structural information on biomolecules, particularly for peptides and proteins, as well as carbohydrates.
