Professor George Christou named a 2008 UF Research Foundation Professor.

Professor George Christou has been named as one of six CLAS faculty among thirty-three total selected for a UF Research Foundation Professorship for 2008. This recognition is awarded to faculty members who have a distinguished current record of research and a strong research agenda likely to lead to continuing distinction in their fields.
The UFRF professors are recommended by their college deans based on nominations from department chairs, a personal statement, and an evaluation of recent research accomplishments. “The nominating documents invariably use phrases like ‘cutting edge,’ ‘innovative,’ and ‘most productive’ to describe the researchers’ work,” said Win Phillips, UF’s vice-president for research. “They, and hundreds of others like them, are the reason we have been able to move into the top tier of research universities nationally.”
The three-year professorships are funded from the university’s share of royalty and licensing income on UF-generated products. |
