Bowden and Keller receive Graduate Student Teaching Awards
Graduate students John Bowden and Julia Keller have been selected as recipients of Graduate Student Teaching Awards for 2005-2006.
Bowden teaches Instrumental Analysis Laboratory, CHM4130L. In the class he emphasizes fundamental concepts and practical usage of spectroscopic, chromatographic, electrochemical, thermal, and microscopic analysis. His main teaching goals are to have students progress as scientists throughout the semester and to make them aware that what they are doing is pertinent to actual laboratory situations.
Keller taught Organic Chemistry Laboratory, CHM 2211L, for three semesters under Dr. Tammy Davidson. Keller is a second year graduate student working toward her Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry under Professor Kirk Schanze. She enjoys teaching and eventually hopes to become a professor. She especially loves interacting with students and getting others excited about learning and applying chemistry.
Congratulations, John and Julia!
