ChemBioDraw Ultra
Site License


The Department of Chemistry has renewed its site license through CambridgeSoft for ChemBioDraw Ultra. The site license is an annually renewed subscription. The current contract is due to expire on 09/28/2008.

This license covers ChemBioDraw Ultra 11.0, ChemBioDraw ActiveX/Plugin Pro 11.0, Chem3D ActiveX Pro 11.0, Chem3D Std 10.0, ChemFinder Std 10.0, and E-Notebook Std 11.0 for Windows, ChemBioDraw Ultra for Mac, and the ChemINDEX subscription database. The software is available for all faculty, staff, and students and can be installed on university computers as well as personal computers and home computers.

      Obtaining the Software

    ChemBioDraw Ultra 11.0 Site License Expires: 09/28/2008 

    For Personal Installations:
    1. Register with CambridgeSoft
    For personal installations of ChemBioDraw Ultra, such as on your office PC, laptop, or home computer, you will need to register using your "@chem.ufl.edu" or "@ufl.edu" address. Only registrations with a valid @chem.ufl.edu or @ufl.edu will have access to site license.  Must use Microsoft Internet Explorer.

    2. Obtain the Product Serial #
    Each user, who registers with CambridgeSoft, will be assigned a unique serial number that they can used on up to 3 systems. After registering your e-mail address, CambridgeSoft should send you a confirmation e-mail that includes your assigned product serial number.

    If you do not recieve the e-mail confirmation, you can alternatively login to CambridgeSoft's User Account System and obtain your assigned serial number from the "View Serial Numbers" link. Must use Microsoft Internet Explorer.


    3. Download the Software

  • (Click on the appropriate link above, and proceed to save the file to your computer.
    Then double click file to begin the install.)


    4. Install and Activate ChemBioDraw
    When you begin installing ChemBioDraw Ultra, you will be prompted to Activate the software. Enter your Name, Organization, E-mail Address, and your Serial number then click the "Activate over the Internet" button. For help see CambridgeSoft's Detailed Activation Instructions.

    For Installation on Shared Computers:
    1. Checkout Media from IT Shop
    For installation of ChemBioDraw Ultra on shared computers, such as those used in research groups and lab environments, you may checkout the installation CD and obtain the serial number from the IT Shop in Leigh 116-D.
     

      Renewing your License


    Renewing ChemDraw Ultra version 11 on a PC:
    If you are already using ChemBioDraw Ultra 11, you need to reactivate with your existing serial number in order to renew your installed copy.

    1. To reactivate, launch the ChemBioDraw application and click 'Activate' on the 'Help' menu then put in your serial number (it shows up automatically if you originally activated on the same machine).

    2. Click on 'Activate over the Internet' to complete the activation. If that fails (because you don't have an Internet connection) then you can activate by phone, fax, or email to receive an activation code.

    3. The software will display a warning message one month before the previous expiration date, and you can close that window then click 'Activate' on the 'Help' menu.

    4. If your software has already expired, you will be immediately prompted to activate when you launch ChemBioDraw.

    Renewing ChemDraw Ultra ver 9 or 10 on a PC:
    You may either upgrade to version 11, or may keep ver 9 or 10 by reactivating with your existing serial number.

    1. To reactivate, launch the ChemDraw application and click 'Activate' on the 'Help' menu then put in your serial number (it shows up automatically if you originally activated on the same machine).

    2. Click on 'Activate over the Internet' to complete the activation. If that fails (because you don't have an Internet connection) then you can activate by phone, fax, or email to receive an activation code.

    3. The software will display a warning message one month before the previous expiration date, and you can close that window then click 'Activate' on the 'Help' menu.

    4. If your software has already expired, you will be immediately prompted to activate when you launch ChemDraw.

    5. Alternatively, you may upgrade to version 11 now or anytime, by re-downloading (and getting a new serial number) via: http://scistore.cambridgesoft.com/sitelicense.cfm?sid=141

    Renewing ChemDraw Ultra on a Mac:
    You need to get a new serial number and registration code.

    1.To get your new codes, look for the link about renewed serial numbers at http://scistore.cambridgesoft.com/sitelicense.cfm?sid=141

    2. You will be emailed a new serial number and registration code. The Mac software and serial number are included on the same download page and same email message as PC users, but are marked as Mac.

    Renewing Installations on Shared (lab) Computers:
    To renew the lab license for installations of ChemDraw Ultra on shared computers, such as those used in research groups and lab environments, you should contact the IT Shop staff at support@chem.ufl.edu to obtain the upated lab license serial number.
     

      Serial Number & Password Lookup

    Serial Number Lookup: If you misplace your serial number at anytime, you can look it up by logging in at http://www.cambridgesoft.com/login and clicking 'View Serial Numbers & Expiration Dates for Your Downloads'.

    Password Lookup: If you forgot your username and/or password, you can request an email reminding you of them, by filling in your email address in the 'Forgot your User Name or Password?' field at: http://www.cambridgesoft.com/login/recovery/
