John R. Reynolds |
John, a native Californian, obtained his B.S. in Chemistry at San Jose State University (1979) followed by his M.S. (1982) and Ph.D. (1984) in Polymer Science and Engineering at the University of Massachusetts. He became interested in the field of conducting and electroactive polymers through a position with the IBM Research Laboratories in the late 1970s. After developing his own research effort at The University of Texas at Arlington (1984-1991), he moved to the University of Florida where he is presently a Professor of Chemistry and Associate Director of the Center for Macromolecular Science and Engineering. His research group focuses their research efforts in the Butler Polymer Research Laboratories and the Materials Chemistry Characterization Laboratory. Married to Dianne since 1986, John has three children Jackie, Bryan and Jason. |

Cheryl Googins |
As Program Assistant, Cheryl provides support to Dr. Reynolds. While not in the Chemistry Department, you can find Cheryl assisting here husband, Wayne, in his real estate business. In their spare time, Cheryl and Wayne enjoy biking, kayaking, and sight-seeing. |

Frank A. Arroyave |
Frank is graduate student coming from Cali (Colombia), where he studied for five years at the chemistry department of ?Universidad del Valle?. He joined the Reynolds' Group in Fall 2006 and he is pursuing a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry. As an undergrad student Frank work under the guidance of Rodrigo Abonia synthesizing pyrazolines derivatives by methodology of Benzotriazol at the Heterocyclic Compounds research group (GICH) of Universidad del Valle for one and a half year. |

Pierre Beaujuge |
Pierre is a graduate student coming from the Graduate School of Chemistry and Physics of Bordeaux / France. After a one year internship at ARKEMA Research Center U.S. (King Of Prussia, PA) supervised by Dr. Silverman G. and Dr. Korotkov R., Pierre joined Dr. John Reynolds’ Group in Fall 2005. He is currently pursuing his PhD in the UF Organic Chemistry division focusing on the Synthesis/Characterization of Electrochromic Polymers as well as their integration in Electrochromic/Photovoltaic Devices. |

Bob Brookins |
Bob is a graduate student qualifying in the organic division. He received a B.S. in chemistry from Georgia Southwestern University. He joined the Reynolds research group in Fall 2003. |

JJ Cowart |
JJ, a native Gainesvillian, is an undergraduate pursuing his B.S. in Chemistry and Spanish. He has been working in the group since May of2 003,and is currently involved in the synthesis and characterization of electrochromic polymers. |

Aubrey Dyer |
Aubrey is a postdoctoral associate with the Reynolds group. She obtained her B.S. in chemistry from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania in 2002 and her PhD from the University of Florida in 2007. Her research focus is on electrochemical-based devices for light-emission and electrochromics. |

Stefan Ellinger |
Stefan, a native of Germany, obtained his Ph. D. (2006) degree from the University of Ulm in Germany, where he worked with Prof. K. Landfester and Dr. U. Ziener synthesizing long endcapped oligo- and polythiophenes without ß-substituents. In January 2006, after completing his Ph. D, he joined the Reynolds' Group as a Postdoctoral Associate. His work involves the synthesis and characterization of conjugated oligomers and polymers based on the donor acceptor system. |

Merve Ertas |
Merve, a native of Turkey, received her B.S. (2002) followed by her M.S. (2003) in Chemistry at METU, Ankara. She joined the Reynolds' Group in Fall 2003. She is pursuing a PhD in Physical Chemistry. |

Michelle Gilkerson |
Michelle is from Kansas City Missouri. She joined the Reynolds Group in fall of 2007 and is qualifying in the organic divison. She graduated from Emporia State University in Kansas BS in Chemistry and Biology. |

Kenneth Graham |
Ken joined the Reynolds group in the fall of 2006 and is qualifying in the analytical division. He graduated from UNC Chapel Hill in the Spring of 2006 with a BS in chemistry. His research plans focus on OLED and solar cell fabrication with carbon nanotube films as transparent electrodes, and the effects of the polymer film morphology on device performance. |

Nathan Heston |
Nathan is originally from Sabinsville, Pennsylvania. He completed his undergraduate degree in physics at Millersville University of Pennsylvania in 2002. He has been working towards his Ph.D. in physics under the guidance of Dr. David Tanner. Nathan's research in the Reynolds Group focusses on polymer-based solar cells and on the transport properties of neutral conjugated polymers. |

Unsal Koldemir |
Unsal, a native of Turkey, recieved his B.S. degree in Chemistry (2005) and M.S. degree in Chemistry(2007) from Bilkent University, Ankara, Turkey. He is a first year graduate student qualifying in Organic Division. He joined Reynolds’ group in Fall 2007. |

David Liu
|
David joined the Reynolds Group in fall of 2006 and is qualifying in the organic divison. He graduated from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a BS in Biochemistry. |

Jianguo Mei
|
Jianguo, a native of China, graduated from
Hefei University of Technology with B.E (2001) and Master's degree (2004) with Prof. Shaoming Yu in
chemical Engineering . In 2004, he came to the USA and joined Professor Nolan's group at the University of New Orleans.
A year later, he moved to the University of Florida and joined Professor Reynolds' group. His research interests include
the design and synthesis of conjugated polymers for optoelectronic applications.

Laura Moody
|
Laura joined the group in 2007 and is involved in electrochemical
polymerization research. She graduated from Duke University in 2003 and
spent the last three years at Edwards Air Force Base involved in rocket
propulsion materials research in the California desert. She was born in
Germany, and lived there and in Japan until coming to the U.S. in 2000.

Egle Puodziukynaite
|
Egle joined the Reynolds
group in the fall of 2007 and is qualifying in the organic chemistry division. Originally from
Lithuania, Egle received her B.S. in Applied Chemistry from Kaunas University of Technology, where
she worked under the guidance of Prof. J. V. Grazulevicius. Her previous research focused on new
enamine derivatives as hole-transporting amorphous molecular materials.

Alice Savage
|
Alice, a native of Merritt Island, Florida, is currently pursuing her B.S. in Chemistry and joined the Reynolds group in the Spring of 2007. Her research efforts are focused on the synthesis of conjugated polymers for use in carbon nanotube based applications. Her previous research involved working with the Zoology Department, where she cared for juvenile alligators and performed studies on the endocrinologic and histologic effects on their reproductive development. |

Eric Shen |
Eric is a graduate student native to Gainesville. He received his B.S. from Rice University in Houston Texas and returned here in 2004, joining the Reynolds Group. |

Pengjie Shi |
Pengjie received his B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Science and Technology of China in 2004 in the field of free living radical polymerization and block copolymers design. He joined Dr. Reynolds’ group in 2005 and is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Organic Synthesis and Polymer Chemistry. His research area involves the synthesis of conducting polymers and conjugated systems. |

Romain is a graduate student coming from the Graduate School of Chemistry and Physics of Bordeaux in France. He came to UF in Fall 2006 to pursue a PhD in Organic Chemistry under the supervision of Dr. John Reynolds." |

Tim Steckler |
Tim is graduate student qualifying in organic chemistry division. Originally from Brookfield, WI, he received his BS in chemistry from Winona State University in Minnesota in 2002. He is going for his Ph.D. in organic chemistry. |

Prasad Taranekar |
Prasad, a native of India, obtained his B.S. (1997) and M.S. (1999) degrees from the Institute of Chemical Sciences. From 1999 to 2000 he worked in the National Chemical Laboratory, India, in the field of conducting polymers. He later joined Dr. R. Advincula at the University of Houston in the field of conducting polymers doing work involving synthesis, characterization, spectroscopy and electro-optical applications. Prasad finished his Ph.D. in 2006 and immediately joined Dr. Reynolds' Group in May as a Postdoctoral Associate. He is involved in synthesis, characterization, and applications of conjugated hyperbranched polymers and copolymers based on triphenylamine vinylene systems for advanced organic electronic applications. |

Harun Nezih Turkcu
|
Harun Nezih received B.S. degree from Chemistry Department at Middle East Technical University in 2002. He obtained M.S. degree about spectroscopy and physical chemistry of polymers from Chemistry Department at Bilkent University in 2004. He was involved in Dr. Reynolds' group in December 2005. He is interested in electrochromic devices.

Svetlana Vasilyeva
|
Svetlana, a native of Russia, obtained her Ph.D. (2000) degree in the Russian State Pedagogical University of Saint-Petersburg, Russia, where she worked with Prof. A.M. Timonov, synthesizing M(Schiff) transition metal complexes and redox polymers on their basis, nanostructured polymers and metal/polymer nanocomposites. She is currently working as a Postdoctoral Associate in the Reynolds group and her work is focused on the materials property optimization, electrochemistry, and electrochromic device fabrication. |

Ryan M. Walczak |
Ryan received his B.S. in Chemistry at the State University of New York at Buffalo in 2001 and his Ph.D. in Organic and Polymer Chemistry in 2006. He is currently working as a Postdoctoral Associate in the Reynolds group with involvement in conducting polymer synthetic methodology and design, materials property optimization, electrochemistry, and device fabrication. |
