His team is responsible for assuring patients receive the correct medication void of contamination from bacteria or particulate matter. When not working at the hospital, Jeff works towards pharmacy school, spending his days studying for prerequisite classes, consisting of biology, anatomy, physiology, and public speaking.
Child, Drew Drew.child@milliken.com As a researcher at Milliken Research, Drew is currently developing products for antistatic coatings, EMI shielding, and resistive heating (wireless electric blankets) and has also been working on developing high thermally resistant coatings for airbags, stain-repellant finishes for autotomotive upholstery, and fabric reinforcement for building products.
Drew and his wife, Lori, are expecting their first child in
June, 2002. They have
been busy choosing names for the coming baby.
Cetinbas, Nihan Drew.child@milliken.com Nihan is currently living in Turkey and working for Pfizer. She began working for Pfizer in 2006 as an In Process Control Scientist and was promoted after a year to the Production Planning department. Her current responsibilities include working closely with Pfizer plants worldwide to assure the uninterrupted supply of pharaceuticals. Future professional plans include persuing an MBA.
Nihan recently moved to a beautiful new house with her new husband.

Carl works within the Core R&D/Polymer Chemistry function of The Dow Chemical Company in Midland, MI. His current work includes fundamental research in self-assembling copolymers and graft copolymers for packaging applications. During his time at Dow, Carl has worked in the areas of latex chemistry, polyurethanes, plastic electronics, and reverse osmosis water purification membranes. He and his wife, Janet, enjoy the seasonal activities that Michigan affords and look forward to starting a family.Gieselman, Mindy mbgieselman@mmm.com Mindy Gieselman works for the 3M Skin Health Division as an Advanced Product Development Specialist where she creates improved medical tapes and dressings. Responsible for the pressure sensitive adhesive development of products, Mindy works primarily with acrylate PSAs. During your next trip to Target, check the shelves for 3M Nexcare "Active Strips", "Clean Seals", and "Ultra Sheer" bandages. All of these products contain Mindy's adhesives.
Soon to be an empty nester, Mindy and her husband, Neal, are
assisting their daughter, Katy, in the college undergraduate
application process. Their
son, Craig graduated in April with an undergraduate degree in Graphic
Design and is looking for a suitable position.

Larmat, Fernando flarmat@hotmail.com , larmat@quimica.univalle.edu.co Fernando is on the faculty as a Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Universidad del Valle in Cali, Columbia. Recently, Fernando has been working on improving and updating the teaching of electrochemistry in his department. Also involved in a project about the application of conducting polymers in electrochemical sensors for molecules of environmental interest, Fernando directs two graduate and two undergraduate students on the project.
Fernando and his wife, Maritza, recently celebrated the birth
of their second son, Jean Pierre.
Their older son, Jean Paul, has started kindergarten.
Maritza works in the plastics industry as a sales

Pullen, Tony Dr. tpullen@a123systems.com Tony left E Ink Corporation in Cambridge, MA and joined another MIT spinoff/startup company, A123Systems, in Boston. He is currently employed as a research scientist and his research is focused on the development of higher energy and power Li rechargeable batteries and alternate methods of battery assembly. Sande and he now have two children, Jacob and Elizabeth, and continue to enjoy their quiet home in Belmont and what New England has to offer.
Ray, Anjan
anjan.ray@uniqema.com Anjan runs a multi-unit chemical marketing operation while taking partial research and development responsibility in the area of emulsion polymerization surfactant applications to develop coating resins. In spare moments, Anjan translates poetry into English and works on a book of short stories. He hopes to see both published this year. Anjan's wife, Arunima, has become a well-known journalist in India and is enjoying the celebrity her job provides. Their daughter, Aleya, is six years old. She spends her time playing outside and painting. Ramey, Michael mbramey@att.net Mike works for the Air Force Research Labs studying the synthesis of rigid rod, high performance polymers and is working on the synthesis of block copolymers for photovoltaic applications. Michael's son, Michael Isaiah Ramey, was born on September 13, 2001. His proud father boasts that he is doing wonderfully.
Ruiz, Jose Jose.Ruiz@us.rhodia.com Jose Ruiz left Cytec in 2001 for a Technical Director position at Dexter Chemical (small company in Bronx, NY) before joining Rhodia. He is currently working in Polymer Systems and Specialties Group at Rhodia to develop new surfactant systems as well as new functional monomers geared for use in emulsion polymerization for coatings applications.
Sapp, Shawn sasapp@lamar.colostate.edu Finishing his doctoral research, Shawn Sapp hopes to defend his PhD by the end of the 2002 summer at Colorado State University. He is looking forward to the end of his graduate work and has begun searching for an industrial position. Tanaka, Susumu Dr. su-tanaka@aist.go.jp Susumu’s work on synthetic branched polymers and conductive polymers has been recognized internationally. Attending the ICSM in Badgastein, Austria afforded Dr. Tanaka the opportunity to present a new study on branched copolymers constituted of triphenylamine and phenylene units. Susumu's family, Hiroyuki, 26 year old prosecutor, Saeko, 20 year old law student, and Yukiko, a volunteer librarian, are all doing very well.

Victor, Mark MVArlon@aol.com Mark Victor is settling in to a new job with Ushio International Technology, Inc. His current task is building an application lab directed at UV and E-beam curing systems to demonstrate the properties of the lamps. In order to achieve this, Mark will be investigating monomers, polymers, and photoinitiators.
Welsh, Dean dmwelsh@dow.com Dean Welsh is currently working as a Research Specialist at The Dow Chemical Company in Midland, MI. Since starting at Dow, Dean has researched semiconducting polymers for plastic transistors and light emitting diodes, and more recently has started a new project on new ligands for olefin catalysis. Dean, his wife Annie, and their daughter Trinity (born in May 2004) enjoy living in Midland and they are expecting another addition to the family in February 2006. Zong, Kyukwan Dr.
Kyukwan.Zong@Milliken.com Since leaving the University of Florida, Kyukwan has been working for Milliken Chemical. His research focuses on the modification of a variety of textiles. These modifications result in a change of performance and use. * Contributions still being added.
